Marlborough St Bridge, Dublin

Structural Systems (UK) Ltd is to commence work with Graham Construction to build a new bridge over the River Liffey in the City Centre of Dublin.  Located slightly downstream from the O’Connell Bridge, it will carry buses and the LUAS at this critical location.  In addition, it will also have cycle-ways and a footpath designed to increase the footfall onto Marlborough Street and Hawkins Street and create a new link between Abbey Street in the north and Pearse Street in the south.

The funding is to be provided by the National Transport Authority via funding from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport.

Contemporary in design, the single span concrete structure is slender in design with a central high point so as not to impede river traffic.  Construction is expected to last up to 18 months.Marlborough St Bridge, Dublin
